(BREAKING NEWS:  Provisional Patents have been awarded by the United States Patent and Trademark Office through December 2009, protecting the exclusive OrganiCAL
complex and the formulas of CAL Density™, CAL Pellets and CAL Pellets Plus™.)

CAL Density™ Active Ingredients

OrganiMINS™

CAL Density™ incorporates five unique organic mineral complexes: OrganiCAL™, OrganiZin™, OrganiCOP™, OrganiMAG™, and OrganiMAN™. Each of these OrganiMINS™ can be used by the body without the fear of creating mineral imbalances unlike the challenges faced when feeding inorganic compounds. Each has been tested for their bioavailability and the scores range from 5-10% higher than other organic minerals and up to 100% greater than some inorganic minerals. Results with your horse may vary based on many factors. It is important to note that on the CAL Density™ label, each of the OrganiMINS™ is listed separately as part of the Ingredient Statement. These organic minerals are classified as proteinates by the American Association of Feed Control Officials (AAFCO). This designation allows for proper labeling that meets the AAFCO standards, an important step in qualifying for registration of CAL Density™ with the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.
OrganiCAL™

The subject of a clinic trial at West Texas A&M University. The results of this study were released in June, 2007 at a nutrition conference in Baltimore, MD. Among other findings, the study showed a 14% bone density increase during the first 60 days of training for the horses in the test group. This 60-day time period is generally understood to be the most challenging for horses to maintain a healthy bone matrix.

The study also showed dramatically higher digestibility than inorganic sources like calcium carbonate and other organic calcium proteinates. OrganiCAL™ is the only calcium proteinate with proof of bone density increases and these were achieved at the most volatile time for bone remodeling. Lastly, OrganiCAL™ was proven to be free of any imbalances as relates to other minerals, like phosphorus, in the horse's diets.
Over 70% of all 2-year-olds in training suffer skeletal injuries that cause a stoppage of training to some defined level. Some of these are career-ending injuries. The mathematical formulas from this study project that these results will be produced with over 97% of horses that would be fed the OrganiCAL™.
HYCHONSAMINE™ (USA Formula Only)

Our unique complex that provides your horse with a wonderful blend of hyaluronic acid (75mg/maintenance, 150mg/full strength and 300mg/maximum-research strength), glucosamine, glucuronic acid and chondroitin sulfate. HYCHONSAMINE™ comes from animal protein product sources that are approved for use in equine feed and feed supplements here in the USA. Due to labeling laws here in Kentucky, this ingredient can only be presented as “animal protein products”. Our independent laboratory analysis will prove exactly how much Hyaluronic Acid, glucuronic acid and chondroitin sulfate is present in each batch.

HUMINO ACID COMPLEX™ (International Formula Only)

A naturally occurring source of a collagen compound, Humino Acid Complex™ is HUMAN GRADE and was the subject of a bioavailability study performed in Modena, Italy where it showed superior results versus four other top-selling collagen/hyaluronic acid (HA) complexes**. It is a key part of the influence that CAL Density™ can potentially provide your horse. From this naturally occurring source, approximately 25mg of HA can be found per 3-oz serving. CAL Density™ also contains a HUMAN GRADE vegetable origin hyaluronic acid that provides over 50 mg of HA per serving.

It is important to understand that bone trauma of any type stimulates the body to produce prostaglandins and other potentially deteriorating enzymes that are dumped into the synovial fluid between the bones in joint space. These enzymes can interfere with cartilage as it is forming. HA is often injected and/or fed to horses in order to provide the body with a greater ability to improve the culture of the synovial fluid. The indirect but potentially healthy effect on bone development would come from protecting cartilage as it is forming. Cartilage begins to form on the lining of the synovial capsule and eventually turns into bone.
Inulin

CAL Density™ contains a Belgian sourced ingredient called inulin*. It is fed with the intention of increasing the production of positive bacteria in the gut. Inulin has been shown to influence the better feed usage by the body. This is important not only when providing CAL Density™, but in digesting all forms of feed.
Betain

CAL Density™ contains betain, a special ingredient fed to increase moisture in cells throughout the body. This is important in bone matrix development because cartilage is over 80% water.

Lysine and Threonine

Proteins are made up of linked amino acids. They serve as structural components for muscle and ligaments in the body and are a source of energy. There are 22 amino acids that are needed by the horse, but not all of them are necessary in the horse’s feed. Non-essential amino acids are produced in the body tissues and therefore are not necessary. However, the essential amino acids must be provided in the diet or synthesized by the microorganisms in the intestine. CAL Density™ contains two of the most important essential amino acids - Lysine and Threonine. There is powerful research supporting the supplementation of these essential amino acids in the diets of developing equines. This research can be found on our Science page or by accessing either of the following two links:  http://jas.fass.org/cgi/content/abstract/79/8/2143  http://jas.fass.org/cgi/content/abstract/72/2/380.
CAL Density™ is PRESERVATIVE FREE and ships direct

CAL Density™ is a PRESERVATIVE-FREE formula that is shipped direct to the customer anywhere in the world within 10 business days. Packaged in reseable, airtight plastic containers insuring maximum freshness, CAL Density™ is made in small batches and maintains a 12-month potency life. Each batch is independently tested to prove that what we say is in the product is actually in there. The results of the Certificate of Analysis testing is available upon request for any batch.

CAL Density™ is DENSE

The formula contains 52% added active ingredients and is formulated in a stabilized rice bran base as opposed to a steam-formed pellet. This process protects the fragile amino acids and HA that can be compromised by the steam or heat used in pellet formation. Rather than active ingredients delivered in foraged based pellet, the stabilized rice bran base is rich in omega 3 fatty acids and provide many health benefits in addition to carrying the active ingredients found in CAL Density™.

Satisfaction Guaranteed

CAL Density™ is backed by a Satisfaction Guarantee. If you are not happy for any reason, we will promptly refund the full purchase price, less any taxes or shipping and handling charges.

IMPORTANT UPDATE - The Integrity Manufacturing Company of Winchester, KY, the makers of CAL Density™, has been awarded the necessary approval from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to begin shipping into the European Union and many other countries around the world. This is the key document for UPS and other shipping companies to provide the foreign customs agencies with the required paperwork to gain clearance for delivery. Foreign customers using UPS Expedited Freight qualify for deep discounts on your CAL Density™ orders and with this USDA approval should arrive anywhere in the world within 10 days of shipment from our faciltiy in Winchester, KY.
